Our client is a brokerage company. They are looking for an Accounting Manager to join their Stamford, CT office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the month, quarter, and year-end closing of the books, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Analyze financial statements in conformity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Collaborate to support requests from external auditors for consolidated and statutory audits
- Approve reclassing journal entries, clearing open items, coaching staff members of the team
- Monitor close processes with the aim of streamlining timelines while mitigating risk
- Confirm that the appropriate financial control framework and safeguards are in place
- Check financial and management accounting information and presentation of analysis and commentaries
- Give judgment on financial matters, accounting policy, and ideas to improve controls and processes
- Evolve and maintain policies and procedures manual
Requirements
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Public/combo background preferred
- Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
