Our client is a health insurance company. They are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Newark, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and SAP and regulatory requirements
- Report monthly and quarterly financials and general ledger closing activities
- Produce financial reporting including board reports, divisional reports, etc.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations and analysis for financial reporting
- Coordinate audits with external auditors and deliver necessary documentation
- Review analysis and benchmarking including analyzing raw financial data
- Carry out financial analysis to provide meaningful inputs for decision-making
- Maintain effective internal controls over the processes and transactions
- Identify finance core processes for standardization and streamline procedures
Requirements
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Public or private accounting background
- Open to industry experience
- Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- CPA strongly preferred
