Our client is a real estate investment firm. They are looking for an Investment Accounting Associate to remotely join their office.
Responsibilities
- Complete analytical review of monthly and quarterly property financials
- Record adjustments to convert tax basis accounting to GAAP
- Assemble gain on sales, income, and distribution allocations using waterfall calculations
- Confirm proper accounting treatment for income recognition and adherence to capitalization policy
- Manage year-end property audits and assistance with tax returns
- Collaborate with the deal team, asset management, and operations to coordinate capital activity
- Assist with valuations, working closely with operating partners, audit firms, fund accounting, and deal teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Public, private, or combo background preferred
- Real estate industry experience required
- Experience with valuations, joint ventures, promote, and waterfalls required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of advanced Excel
- CPA certification preferred
