Our client is a public accounting firm. They are looking for a Tax Director to join their Woodbury, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple engagements to meet client deliverables
- Support all levels of staff on client engagements
- Lead staff and senior accountants on multiple engagements
- Supervise and mentor staff and senior accountants
- Check complex and multi-state corporate, partnership, fiduciary and individual income tax returns
- Assist with tax preparation responsibility for the more complex tax returns
- Help research information on trust accountings
- Control and aid with resolving tax notices and examinations with government agencies
- Complete tax research and training on various related topics
- Handle year-end tax projections, quarterly estimates, and tax planning strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 10+ years of public accounting experience
- Experience with high-net-worth individuals, travel expenses, and gift tax returns required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess, Engagement, and QuickBooks
- CPA certification required
