Our client is an alternative asset management firm. They are looking for a Vice President of Accounting to join their Los Angeles, CA office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the close process including revenue, compensation, and expenses
- Manage audits by ensuring accurate schedules and timely delivery to external auditors
- Lead month-end close and oversee account variance analysis performed by the team
- Review all key balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely completion
- Generate and report analyses to validate asset and liability account trends
- Lead effort to identify and create efficiencies in general accounting functions
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team to document key controls and policies
- Prepare ad hoc reports and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Ensure that all deadlines are met in accordance with the closing dates
Requirements
- 8+ years of accounting experience
- Public or combo (Big 4+) accounting background
- Financial services/fund industry background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Skilled in Great Plains G/L
- CPA required
